The Suvisesha Sevika Sangham, is the women’s wing of Mar Thoma church inaugurated in 1919, during the Maramon Convention, under the leadership of Abraham Mar Thoma Suffragan Metropolitan. The motto of the Sevika Sangham is – ‘Service and Evangelism, in the life and mission of the Mar Thoma Church’. Every women of the Marthoma church eighteen and older is a member of Sevika Sangham. Our parish belongs to the Southeast Region Center B. Our Sevika Sangham is actively involved with the programs of the Diocesan and regional activities. Each year our members attend these conferences and meetings. Our Sevika Sangham organization has been empowering women by actively involving in Bible studies, visiting sick people and supporting charities like Marriage Aid, Education Aid, and Home for Homeless aid and Native American Education Scholarship aid.
OBJECTIVES:
- Help the women of the Mar Thoma Church to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
- women to grow into the maturity and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
- Equip women for Christian fellowship, worship life, and Biblically authentic family life.
- Facilitate women to develop loyalty to the Church and participate in the growth of various organizations and institutions in the Church.
- Equip women to participate in the mission of the Church.
- Organize seminars, classes, workshops, conferences, etc. to create in women interest in Bible studies, faith, practices of the Church, history of the Church, and ecumenical relationships.
